Competitions

The club conducts several competitions for members each year.

Annual Aggregate Print Competition

On approximately seven occasions during the year, members are invited to present up to three prints for judging by an external judge. The judge is required to place each image into one of the following categories:

  Points Awarded
Acceptance   4
Merit   6
Highly Commended   8
Honour   10

The points are aggregated leading to the award of Gold, Silver and Bronze medallions at the end of the year.

Prints awarded either Highly Commended or Honour are eligible to be entered for the Print of the Year award.

Members submit their entries at the club meeting immediately prior to the club meeting set aside for the presentation of the judge's decisions. On most occasions the entries may be of any subject (Open), however, from time to time the subject matter will be limited to a topic or theme (Set Subject).

There are two grades: "A" Grade and "B" Grade.

Members elect which category to enter, however, it is expected that the member winning "B" will enter "A" in the following year.
